The first day I learned how to stand properly on my feet in Tadasana. Nothing really mind blowing. Looking back, I could not have imagined where this simple instruction would lead me to. There are so many reasons that I would recommend this course that I don’t know where to begin. I’ve put off writing a review for a week because I didn’t know where to start and how to answer this concisely when I have a Emily Kuser hurricane still roaring in my head! Early on in the course, Emily laughingly said “yoga will ruin your life as you know it” and I felt so uneasy with this because I already knew how powerful the teacher training process would be before I even knew what it involved, and that was being confirmed! I also knew from the experience of educating myself that once you learn something big you can’t unlearn it! The most powerful thing I cultivated was a deep, loving, connection with myself. Who my authentic self is when you peel away the layers and influences of upbringing, education, cultural conditioning, religion etc. I have a stronger sense of self and I know how to keep it blooming now that I’ve integrated back into my life; through meditation, asana, pranayama and mantra. I have so many tools up my sleeve for living life because I took a month to go on the crazy journey of self care that is yoga. I met beautiful, diverse people from all over the world and learnt the depths that connection can be. It turns out how long you know someone means nothing compared to how deeply you connect. I know I’ve made some lifelong friends. Ubud, The Yoga Barn and Balinese people, my goodness the best combination of surrounds you could hope for on this journey. The teachers are all amazing rebels! I just complete the 200hrs Yoga Teacher Training with Emily and it was just amazing. The whole group of 30 people connected deeply and we learned from a vary of great teachers. It doesn’t matter if you plan to teach or just do this training for yourself, it was an eye opening experience because we learned much about ourselves as well as all areas of yoga. During the 28 days we gained a deep understanding of anatomy, Ayurveda and yoga philosophy in our courses and had a ongoing asana, meditation and pranayama and mantra practice. All of this was delivered on with so much more…..Emily’s teacher training introduced such inspiring guest speakers and teachers, in the most beautiful sacred space (Lotus Studio) for an entire month at The Yoga Barn – Bali. I completed my one month 200 hour teacher training course with Emily Kuser Yoga in Aug 2013. Emily Kuser is a very passionate, incredible & gifted teacher. She has this extraordinary sense of acumen. Co-teacher Bex Taylor is very energetic, full of life and also very passionate. She touches hearts with her teachings. Despite being amazing and respected teachers, they remained compassionate, open and very down to earth. I have also truly learnt a lot from the inspiring panel of guest teachers and my lovely 23 sisters and brothers. Yoga Barn Ubud is a world out of this world. I started my journey with Emily Kuser by taking her Anusara classes at The Yoga Barn – Bali. I was scheduled to complete a different teacher training, but realized it was not a good fit. I just felt so comfortable with Emily and her style. When I came to the decision to pull out of the other training and asked to join Emily Kuser Yoga Immersion – Ubud, Bali, she was unbelievably supportive. It was the best decision I’ve made (since quitting my corporate law job last year). I was not looking for a teacher training that broke students down in order to rebuild them. Emily does not do that. Instead, she offers support to ensure that each student is uplifted, to be the best person that they can be, to ensure they have the tools to go out and spread yoga and Emily Kuser to others. Believe it or not, it was life-changing mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically-in just 7 days! Your Emily Kuser Yoga Immersion had a major effect on me. I would not be exaggerating to say that joining the Emily Kuser Teacher Training was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Emily puts so much heart and soul into everything she does that she creates a beautiful, seamless experience that allows the student to fully engage, grow and learn. Not only is Emily an engaging and fun teacher, but she is also down to earth and about as forthcoming and honest as you can get.  Emily Kuser  also gives the incredible experience of learning from many different teachers from all walks of life and yoga styles, giving you a well-rounded and thorough learning experience in one of the most beautiful spaces I’ve ever done yoga. What surprised me the most (having completed a couple teacher trainings before) was the great emphasis on actually teaching. Ironically, some trainings can leave you knowing a lot about theory and asana but without the confidence to actually hold space in a classroom and feel like you can lead a class. From the get go,  Emily Kuser built an environment that allowed us to become teachers right away, making it so that at the end of the month we all felt we had the tools to not just teach, but do it in such a way that will open hearts and minds. If you really have a passion to teach and share yoga with the world, I couldn’t recommend anything more highly than Emily Kuser !

I had been looking for yoga teacher trainings for about a year when one day I stumbled across Emily’s website and the announcement for Emily Kuser teacher training. I immediately knew that this was the one. Why? 1) Location: Even though I hadn’t even considered Bali, I had this inkling of a feeling that I would love this island, as well as the Yoga Barn, where the training would take place. 2) Curriculum: The way Emily presented the curriculum showed how well-thought through the training was and I immediately got the sense that it had been put together by someone who wanted to make this experience the best her students could possibly have. 3) Values: The fact that Emily invited a whole array of guest teachers to teach on the course – from Ayurveda, Anatomy, Neuroscience, Meditation, History of Yoga, Spiritual Activism, Philosophy, Bio-mechanics of Yoga and much more – showed her integrity and strong values as a teacher. By inviting these dedicated and highly trained individuals, she was paying forward, giving back to community. This training has been the most heart-opening, genuine, fun, inspiring, high-vibing freaking thing that could have possibly happened to me. I am deeply grateful to Emily and all the amazing teachers on the course for making it happen. I am and will be recommending it to everyone with a passionate wish to teach yoga!

I am still high vibing from the 200hr teacher training I completed in August! Emily is not only one of the best yoga teachers I have had the joy of practicing with, she is also an incredibly gifted facilitator. The intelligence and intention behind every single detail was evident – from the guest teachers (world class quality, Bex,Les, Chris…!), the location, the schedule, the excursions, the whole shebang. My experience at Emily Kuser was just amazing. I went there for a 1-week retreat to help me manage big changes in my life. The experience was so rich and beneficial that I committed to return once a year. From the schedule to the food, everything was just perfect. I did extensive research into available Teacher Training courses so choosing to go with Emily Kuser was a well considered decision. Emily Kuser’s website happened to be the first one I read through online and turned out to be the last one -full circle! What drew me to enrol for the Emily Kuser training was -apart from Emily’s charismatic humble photographic presence- the clarity in which the information was displayed, the ‘voice’ or message (genuine and warm, yet firm), the style of yoga (mainly though not limited to Anusara; a very intelligent and refreshing approach), the fairness of price, and location off course: Ubud’s Yoga Barn is undoubtedly the ultimate environment for Teacher Training. Imagine doing your daily sun salutes overlooking a pond and rice paddy, coconut trees in the background, a rooster calling in the distance, a frangipani flower landing on your mat. All of the above, and so much more, I received during the course. Emily’s generosity and intelligence was endless -and you need lots of it to guide a group of 26 people through a Teacher Training. Yes, it was challenging, at times it was like being spun inside a washing machine. But the insights coming from it were so profound. It was a huge learning cure, a massive time of transformation. The training was so much fun: some of the teaching labs were hilarious, the hugs the best you will ever receive. We had guest teachers come in share their knowledge about anatomy, Ayurveda, Kirtan, meditation, alignment and music. The food was delicious! I left Ubud with a suitcase full of tools and a network of amazing yogi’s from all over the world: life changing.

The Emily Kuser retreat was life changing. I went to Bali hoping to relax, de-stress and do some yoga. While that was achieved, the retreat offered soooo much more. A competent, loving and creative group of friends who came together with the purpose of creating an experience of diverse yoga styles meditations and more.. I just completed the 200 hour teacher training and couldn’t recommend it more highly. The experience was incredible- very professional, fabulous trainer and guest lecturers, tasty healthy food, and a comfortable environment perfect for facilitating learning. I had my doubts about a non-residential training, but Emily is a community builder extraordinaire. Everyone who came into the training to teach had a palpable contagious energy and a passion for what they were sharing. Loved it and highly recommend any event with the Emily Kuser team.
